Biography

Hand Surgery Specialist and
Upper Extremity Surgery Specialist

Hand surgery captivated South Bay native Dr. Halikis the minute he was exposed to it. “I love the intricacy involved in repairing one of the most complicated parts of the body. As a kid I used to build models and enjoy woodworking. Hand surgery is a lot like this—it’s an art and a science.” His patients span all ages, and he couldnt be more pleased to share his expertise, whether surgical or non-surgical, to help them.

Dr. Halikis’ first priority is that each of his patients receives an individually designed, comprehensive treatment and recovery program. He has specialized training in both hand surgery and upper extremity surgery, and is extensively trained in all aspects of operative and non-operative upper extremity care, including carpal tunnel syndrome, trauma, arthritis, tumors, tendonopathies such as trigger finger, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, and more. Because he completed the prestigious University of Florida Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship, he is highly sought after and well known for treating conditions and injuries that require sensitive care.

Dr. Halikis earned his doctorate and completed his orthopaedic residency at USC and is the former Chief of Surgery and Orthopaedics at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance. He is an active member and volunteer in his church and embraces the local South Bay lifestyle by enjoying the regions skiing, surfing, beach volleyball, and basketball. More than a sportsman, Dr. Halikis is also an accomplished guitarist who regularly plays in a band, an interest that keeps his hands finely tuned for surgery.
