Research Interests:

Deformities of the head and neck region resulting from cancer treatment, congenital malformation and traumatic injuries can be devastating on physical structure and function and frequently result in severe compromise in quality of life.  Rehabilitation is currently a complex process best achieved through a multidisciplinary approach combining advanced surgical and prosthetic reconstructive procedures.  Our goal at the Weintraub Center is to evaluate the outcomes of these treatments through randomized clinical trials and develop new approaches that will further push the envelope.  Dr. Roumanas’ research focuses primarily on clinical outcomes in implant prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthetics.

Dr. Roumanas a member of the Oral Rehabilitation Outcomes Network (ORONet).  An international multicenter group focused on standardized and comprehensive evaluation of comparative effectiveness of therapies of oral rehabilitation.
